Daily Reflection

About us

About This Meeting

Random 1239 started in the Bay Area and has grown into a global community. We meet every single day at 12:39am — a time that works for night owls, insomniacs, people in different time zones, and anyone who needs a meeting right now.

Open Meeting

Everyone is welcome — alcoholics, people who think they might have a problem, and those who are just curious about AA.

Relaxed & Fun

We take recovery seriously but ourselves lightly. Expect warmth, laughter, and a genuinely welcoming crowd from all over the world.

Daily at 12:39am

Every day, no exceptions. Whether it's your first meeting or your thousandth, there's always a seat at the table.

Discussion Format

Each meeting has a topic or reading, then open sharing. Everyone gets a chance to speak — or just listen. No pressure.

Home Group

Many members call Random 1239 their home group. If you'd like to make it yours or get involved in service, register on the Home Group page.

Global Community

Originally from Oakland, California, our members now join from across the US, Europe, and beyond. The 12:39am time brings the world together.

First time?

What to Expect

Showing up for the first time takes courage. Here's exactly what happens so there are no surprises.

  1. 1

    Click the Zoom link

Hit "Join the Meeting" above or open Zoom and enter the meeting ID and passcode manually. No Zoom account is required.

  2. 2

    You'll be welcomed in

Someone will greet you when you join. Feel free to keep your camera off and your mic muted until you're comfortable — that's completely normal.

  3. 3

    The meeting opens

The chair reads some short readings from AA literature, and we welcome any newcomers and visitors to the meeting. The whole meeting runs about an hour.

  4. 4

    Open sharing

Members share on the topic — what's on their mind, what's helping them stay sober, or just how their day went. You're never required to share.

  5. 5

    The meeting closes

We close the meeting and then stick around for our world famous Parking Lot — an informal chat that stays open for several hours after the meeting ends. It's often the best part.

You don't have to say anything. Many people attend their first meeting just to listen. The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.
